This is a piece done through The Drawing Machine. Alice and I were approached by Illustrative to collaborate with Art of Brands to create two exclusive and limited art pieces. One was for Olympique Marseille and the other for Smiley (coming soon).

‘Aux Armes’ is an ode to Olympique Marseille, to its supporters and their passion for their team and their city. We see l’OM as its own kind of religion; the club’s victories and history, the supporters, the city of Marseille, and the culture of the south. These all shape l’OM and unite the people together under one flag. Just as people sing, cheer and dance for a religion, l’OM brings people together with just as much enthusiasm and belief. Drawing upon the iconic strength of the different religions of Marseille, and the colors of the club, this stained glass window tells the story of l’OM.

CALA - A Short Story.

My name is Cala.

I used to walk the streets with my father. Hand in hand we would go.

He would guide me and talk to me and teach me all the wonderful things life had to offer.

I would spend this time feeling the earth and my surroundings.

When I touched a brick wall my father tell me it was the gate to a forbidden garden. That inside was full of fruit trees and flowing with springs. He would explain to me the taste of the fruits and the juices that would run down my face when biting an apple. And I would believe him.

When I would smell the heavy air he would say it was the rain about to come down to wash away the dirt so the plants and flowers could grow and bloom.

He would hold in my hand a rose and tell me that the barbs were for protection so that the petals could blossom. And for me this was real.

When I would touch a warm metal pole my father would tell me that it was the bark of a great tree. A tree that would give us shade and protect us.

When I would hear the screaming of people and honking of horns, my father would say these were the noises of all the people trying to get in to this beautiful garden. He would tell me that the garden was hidden and that only we would be able to bask in the sun. We were safe in our own oasis.

This was the world I knew. The world I believed in and loved.

When my father died and I grew older, the secret garden I used to escape to began to fade. I had to begin to see the world I lived in for what it really was.

Torn and degrading. The smells, the textures, the noises. All hopeless and without remorse. All without beauty.

 Why was it so easy to believe in before. Perhaps because I was a child. The world my father created for me was as real as I wanted it to be for in my mind it was exactly as my father described it. Now when I feel a brick wall I know it means separation. When I smell the thick air it means despair. When I stroke the prickly barbs it means to not trespass and that a long metal pole means oppression.

The world my father had created for me was real for I never knew any better.

I was born blind.

"Open the hatch down the funnel through the tube in the belly." This is The Sacrifice. In life you are offered many paths to walk along, some winding others straight. In the end there is no wrong or right way of going. It just matters how you swallow it and how it sits in your belly. This print is available to purchase HERE!

This piece started as an experiment using a new thick black marker I had bought and was obsessed with. I love black markers. At the moment I want to really find a nice way to combine my hand drawings with my computer drawn lines. Here is one of many experiments. I present to you Queen Coco (because a friend told me she kind of looks like Coco Chanel). You can buy this print HERE.

The Guardians is a series commissioned by gallery Byplay. Three Norse women: Freya, Idun, and Signy. All beautiful, honest and humble in nature, they adorn different animal headdresses which represent each ones guardian spirit. They are surrounded by symbols of his own creation that reflect this spirit and it’s strength.

It is a celebration of a strong yet humble beauty, and the calm, guided power of those who watch over us.

The Drawing Machine is back and in business. We are currently working on a new exciting project. It is a graphic novel called Whonus and Whatnus. It is still in the early stages but keep checking back for more updates!

I was recently part of The Parked Car Project. The opening was just last week and it was super fun. I will post more images of the shin dig next but for now enjoy the books!
