This is a bench I collaborated on with two other designers: Jonny Wray and Richard Beumer. It is a bench for the masses but made for the individual. Simple in both manufacturing and assembly, it takes the traditional comfort of a public bench and brings it into a more personal context.
It’s construction is of multi-plex wood that is CNC milled. It fits together by slotting flat planks for the seat and back into two side panels which are held together by eight simple wedges. No glue or nails required.
This is a pattern I created to laser engrave on the panels.
