This is a logo I did for good friend and film-maker Emmanuel Tenenbaum. He is a fantastic story-teller with a great sense of humour and I wanted that to be reflected in this piece.

This identity was done for recent client of mine Philips. Quite exciting. It is an in-house identity showcasing their new model of project managing. It is specific to the MRI department in Philips so I had a tour and saw many new and old MRI machines (the old ones looking more like torture devices). What I wanted to highlight in this piece was the growth and beauty of MRI imaging. How the images take photos in what appear to be layers of color that make out a final image. It also shows the growth of the new project model in Philips MRI.

Another identity done for Philips. They approached me asking for a logo for their in-house training program that they have recently updated. It was one of those that I was free to do what I wanted EXCEPT whatever I did it had to incorporate a triangle. At first frustrated, I then ventured back into my old math textbooks and took inspiration from the old diagrams and drawings of triangles and angles. In the end it turned out quite nicely, except for the re-living of all the bad times I had in math class.

This identity is for the fantastic Studio Ludens. They are two cool cats who do cool things like build robots, laser engrave bananas, and create mass pattern generating machines. Ludens (or homo ludens) means man at play. This is exactly what they do. They are interaction designers who give tools for man to play, create, and have fun with. With this in mind all I had to do was find the playing man in their name and the rest was history. The logo then became an entire re-vamp of their identity and website which I also did. You can see it HERE.

This identity was for a local Italian pizzeria. I went in one day to have myself a fantastic pizza and the next moment I was talking to the owner about how she could add a bit of charm to the identity of the restaurant. We had a few meetings where she would talk about her passion for food and the smells and tastes and feelings she associated with food. I would just sit, listen, sketch and indulge the odd pizza slice. In the end with her passion for food and my passion for graphics (and food), the identity for the restaurant was born. It is all based on layers and the layering of smell and tastes to create a final dish.

Attached to the Pomodoro & Basilico pizzeria was a hostel. So naturally once I completed one identity I was asked to do the other. It was an interesting task since the restaurant was part of the hostel, there should be some sort of visual red thread between the two identities. My solution: a giant tomato tree! Inspired by the simple architecture of the building and the tomato, I came to this solution. A bit surreal and a bit cozy.
